Aysha Celestin (Ensemble) is a junior. She has been in quite a few previous Northwest Rankin High School theatre productions. Favorite roles include Jojo (Seussical: The Musical) and Neige (Aftershock). Recently, Aysha won first place and received a perfect score for her duet acting piece, “Very, Very Cold Feet.” With this accomplishment, she and Taylor Mills earned the opportunity to compete in Duet Acting at the International Thespian Festival in Lincoln, NE in June of this year. Aysha also assumes several leadership roles at Northwest including being a member of Beta Club and the current president of International Thespian Troupe #5727.

Kaleigh Cohen (Ensemble) is a junior. Favorite roles include Little Red in the Northwest Middle production of Not So Grimm Fairytales and Ballyhoo/Marsha in Oddball. Olivia Compton (Ensemble) is a sophomore. She is a member of the NWR Theatre Production class and was recently seen on stage in the ensemble of Aftershock, the 2018-2019 competition one act. Her favorite role with NWR Thespians was Little Ti Moune in last year’s musical, Once on this Island. In addition to her work on the stage, Olivia enjoys playing golf and is a member of the Northwest Rankin girls’ golf team. She also plays the piano and serves as the Sophomore representative for Thespian Troupe #5727.

In addition to his participation as an NWR Thespian, he is an active member of the Robotics team, Mu Alpha Theta, and Beta Club. He thinks his mom doesn’t like his hair.

Austin Easterling (Joey) is a junior. Although this is his first NWR Thespians production, he is excited to have found his home in the Northwest theatre world. He is a member of the NWR Speaks team and is thrilled to have been accepted into the 2019-2020 Theatre Production class. In his free time, Austin enjoys playing baseball. He currently plays in a league in Madison full of students from NWR and Brandon High School.

Bryana is a thespian, and she is actively involved in several clubs at school including Beta Club, HOSA, and Rat Pack. Bryana was recently accepted into the 2019-2020 Theatre Production class, and looks forward to continuing to make great theatre at Northwest!

Brelyn Horne (Ensemble) is a freshman. She is a member of the 2018-2019 Advanced Theatre 1&2 class, which recently devised and produced The Mouse’s Melody. She enjoyed playing Brittany in that production, and was an active member of the Northwest Rankin Middle School theatre department. She is honored to get to create such a fun show with such an incredible cast, who have quickly become close friends. She hopes to be able to help create many more shows with NWR Thespians in the future!

Antonio Juarez (Technical Director) is a senior. He found the Thespians late in his high school career, but he’s definitely made the most of this inaugural experience. After graduation, Juarez hopes to attend Hinds CC; maybe Mrs. Wallace will be able to coerce him into diving into the theatre department there! He’s enjoyed this time spent working with everyone and wishes he had joined Thespians earlier. Zombie Prom was probably one of the best experiences he has had this year! “Add me on SC @ruralburrito8.”

Aidan Kirby (Ensemble) is a junior. She has been active with NWR Thespians for several years now. You may have seen her on stage in Aftershock (Ensemble) or in last year’s competition production of The Shape of the Grave (Ensemble). Aidan loves to sing and dance, and her extracurricular activities consist of theatre, theatre, and more theatre! She traveled as a stagehand to Nashville, TN with Fondren Theatre Workshop’s competition production of I and You for the Southeastern Theatre Conference, and she’s excited about future opportunities to be part of more great theatre at Northwest!

Scottie Lawrence (Student Director) is a senior. She is the team advisor for NWR Speaks, the Northwest speech and debate team, and she is excited to have the opportunity to transition into working with theatre department, too! Zombie Prom is Scottie’s first full-length Northwest Rankin production, but she served as light operator for Aftershock and for Fondren Theatre Workshop’s community theatre division competition production of I and You this spring. After graduation, Scottie plans to attend Arkansas Tech University where she hopes to continue to participate in the performing arts.

She serves as the NWR Speaks captain, and she qualified to compete at nationals in Oral Interpretation of Literature. Taylor is also the Northwest Rankin, Central MS Region, and Mississippi State Poetry Out Loud champion. She leaves next week to compete at the National Poetry Out Loud contest in Washington D.C. At the Mississippi Thespians Conference, she and Aysha Celestin earned a perfect score and a first place award in duet acting, which qualified her (and Aysha) to compete again at the International Thespian Festival in Lincoln, NE in June. Taylor is excited to be a member of the Zombie Prom ensemble, and she looks forward to an awesome senior year full of theatre and interpretation competition!

Kayla Morgan (Ginger) is a senior. After graduation, Kayla plans to attend Hinds CC, complete her bachelors at the University of Mississippi, and attend UMMC to become a dentist. “Here’s to high school, how it flies.” It is an honor closing my senior year with this production. I will never forget the memories made with my fellow thespians!

Eden Polk (Candy) is a senior. Although this may be her favorite musical to date, last year, she played Asaka, the goddess of the Earth in the NWR Thespians’ production of Once on this Island, and that was also really cool. Eden is the drum major for the NWR Band and is a member of The Paw, Northwest’s broadcast journalism class (which produces a bi-weekly news show about events at NWR that can be found on YouTube. Check it out!) After graduation, Eden plans to attend Holmes Community College and major in Music Education. “I’ve had the best time of my life performing with this group of people. I’m so grateful for Mrs. Wallace for how much she has believed in me and taught me. I will truly miss being a part of this wonderful department.”

Hannah Richards (Ensemble) is a sophomore. She is an active member of Thespian Troupe #5727. She is a member of the theatre production competition class and appeared as Ruth in their award-winning show Aftershock, for which she received an All-Star Cast award at the 2018 North High School Dramafest. Hannah is thrilled to be a member of the 2019-2020 Theatre Production class, and she is looking forward to continuing to make great theatre at Northwest Rankin.

Rooks Russell (Assistant Student Director) is a sophomore. He was recently seen as Father Timothy in Aftershock, the 2018-2019 competition one-act, but he has found his niche on the production team for this show. In addition to his participation with Thespian Troupe #5727, Rooks is on the archery team and accidentally auditioned for and made the 2019-2020 NWR Speaks team, so he’ll be adding that to his activities next semester!

Abby Smith (Ensemble) is a junior.

Sabrina Smith (Ensemble) is a freshman.

Brandy Williams, Jr. (Josh) is a junior. He realized the character of Q in the 2018-2019 competition production of Aftershock, and other favorite roles include Mr. Van Horn from Monsters Are Due on Maple Street.
